What is the
History Under the Star Lecture Series?
• The History Under the Star Lecture Series is a quarterly lecture series held at the San Jacinto Museum.
• The series is designed to bring in outside experts to talk about Texas history, specifically the Texas Revolution and its surrounding periods.
• We want to tell the whole story of the Texas Revolution, which will give our audience a deeper and more nuanced understanding of this pivotal moment in Texas history and create a more inclusive space for Texans to learn about their history.
• Each lecture will provide an in-depth analysis of a unique facet of Texas history and aims to shine a light on often overlooked elements, including the contributions of women, Tejanos, and both enslaved and free Blacks.
